For more than a century, Jewish Americans have played a powerful role in American public life through civic engagement, activism, media, culture, and philanthropy that represents our Jewish values and reflects our Jewish community. Amidst the rising authoritarianism and increasing polarization of this century that threatens our democracy and our freedoms, Horizon Philanthropy aims to grow and fortify the liberal and progressive Jewish philanthropic community in pursuit of a United States where every one of us can thrive. 

We organize our work according to three pillars:

  • Horizon Philanthropy unites and provides a membership-based philanthropic home and learning community for Jewish individuals and institutional donors who share a deep commitment to a strong U.S. democracy, and opportunity and justice for all.

  • Horizon Philanthropy identifies, cultivates, and connects new Jewish donors who are aligned with the future we want to create, but are newer to philanthropy, newer to giving to social justice causes, or newer to centering their Jewishness in their philanthropy.

  • Horizon Philanthropy serves as a visible and reliable Jewish partner to secular and multifaith philanthropies, funder collaboratives, and other philanthropic ventures in service of greater collaboration, coordination, and impact.
